The government’s latest rule might’ve hit pause, but don’t pack away your paperwork just yet.
For all the studio owners, creative entrepreneurs, and community-builders out there—if you’re juggling paint, pottery, and profitability, the last thing you need is another government acronym breathing down your neck. Enter the Beneficial Ownership Interest (BOI) reporting rule: a requirement set to go live on January 1st, 2025, with all the grace of a bull in a china shop. But wait—this story just got interesting.
On December 3rd, a Texas judge threw down the gavel and said, “Hold up—this might not even be constitutional.” Translation? BOI reporting is officially on pause. So, as of right now, you do not need to file. Of course, the government isn’t giving up that easily, and the appeal process is already gearing up.
But here’s the real kicker: out of the 42 million expected BOI reports, only 6 million have been filed so far. That’s a lot of business owners either procrastinating or scratching their heads. (And who can blame them?) Clearly, this rule is a bit of a mess, and the courts are still trying to figure out what to do with it.
At PYOP Accounting, we know your time is better spent creating, connecting, and growing a studio that works for you—not getting lost in red tape. Our job is to make the financial side of your business easy, clear, and smooth so you can focus on building a thriving, profitable studio that supports your life, not the other way around.
So, is BOI really dead? Not quite. It’s on pause, but this isn’t the last we’ll hear of it. For now, stand down, enjoy the breather, and let the pros keep an eye on things.

Creativity and CPAs don’t generally go together. Most people think of CPAs as nerdy accountants who can’t talk with people. Well, it’s time to break that stereotype. Lively, friendly, and knowledgeable can be a part of your relationship with your CPA, as demonstrated by Donna and Chad Bordeaux. They have over 50 years of combined experience as entrepreneurial CPAs. They’ve owned businesses and helped business owners exceed their wildest dreams. They have been able to help businesses earn many times more profit than the average business in the same industry and are passionate about helping industries that help families build great memories.
